New Board of Education Student Rep Announced
After the long and intense BOE running at Nashua High School North during the whole month of October- with five people running at the same time; the final winner of the position of Board of Education is a 2025 class student- Warren Farley.
There's only one Board of Education representative per high school. Current sophomores and juniors are allowed to run for the position; BOE is elected by the students to represent all the students (important positions).
North and South BOE reps will go to the board of education meetings, representing all public high school students within the District, presenting to the Board specific proposals and opinions from students; and when appropriate, placing proposals on the Board agenda in accordance with the Board procedures; serving as a liaison between students and the principals, other faculty, student government advisors, and appropriate outside agencies; Keeping public High School students informed of the business of the Board of Education.
LH: What's your favorite subject in school?
WF: Math
LH: Where do you participate in school? (like any clubs/sports?)
WF: I am on the varsity golf team. Will be in the chess club later this year. Served on the E-Block committee (in) freshman and so far (in) sophomore year.
LH: Why did you want to be BOE?
WF: [I] wanted to ensure all the concerns of our district were addressed. Also, I really wanted the experience that this position will provide.
LH: Any fun facts you want to share?
WF: I am a British Citizen. I’ve been to Iceland twice for a total of 3 hours. Had two family members on the Titanic. (Both Were Triple Great Uncles)
