Nashua High School North baseball Season Preview with Coaches & Players
Nashua High School North is starting the 24-25 season of baseball with the first game on April 14th, 2025, playing Manchester Central Highschool.
Players and the Head Coach of the baseball team are interviewed on their thoughts about the new season.
Mr. Harris, the Head Coach of the baseball team, is entering his eighth year of coaching for North and his 13th season coaching this upcoming season.
“I am excited for the upcoming season. We have a great group of kids to coach this year who all have a lot of experience playing with each other. I am looking forward to working alongside our team each afternoon to become the best team that we can be,” he said.
His strong core values of commitment, effort, passion, discipline, and pride are a part of his coaching philosophy.
Harris states that “As a high school coach, it is more important to me to help build better young men than it is to build better players. We are always striving to do both, but I certainly focus on one more than the other. We had a saying last year that ‘Good people make good Titans.’ Your character counts in everything that you do. With good character, you can overachieve. The bad character will always catch up with you.”
Senior left fielder Ryan Garon and senior pitcher and outfielder Eric McInnis have been on the team since their freshman year.
When asked for their opinions on the upcoming season, they agree that the team has potential and will go a long way.
“I think we will be a very competitive team, and I think we believe we will go all the way,” Garon said.
McInnis echoed this agreement and said, “I think it will be great, we have a lot of potential.”
Both seniors have played baseball for 14 years, and this upcoming spring will be their last high school season.
The two senior graduates learned much from their four-year high school journey and have important advice for underclassmen.
“When your back is shoved against the wall, don't give up and keep pushing forward,” says Garon.
“Being involved with a lot of extracurricular it's a lot of fun. Do sports and clubs,” said McInnis.
Along with the annual Spring Battle of the Bridge against South, coach Harris believes it will be a hard and closely contested game.
“My prediction is the same as always for this game. Regardless of what each team's record is or who is playing well at the time, it will be a closely contested game that will likely come down to a few moments in the game that determine the winner,” Harris said.
The seniors, however, feel a strong sense of confidence.“Easy win,” says Garon.
“We will win,” echoed McInnis.
Although each game’s result is uncertain, the coach and players’ hard work and dedication will be evident throughout the game.
