As semester two continues, many theatrical productions around the Nashua area premiere their performances. One of these shows, a play called Clue, closed its doors on Saturday, February 10th. Clue is about six blackmail victims invited to a mansion by a man who knows a secret from each of their pasts. Each is handed a weapon, at which point the lights are switched off and the blackmailer is killed. The guests must then solve the mystery of who killed the mysterious man before others die as well. The show was excellent. The amount of work put into the production through the set design and the level of professionalism held on stage was evident. There were plenty of laughable moments that made it enjoyable to watch. However, some spots were quiet, making it occasionally difficult to follow the story. Additionally, some scenes seemed rushed and needed to be easier to understand. However, these instances were spotty and rare. Overall, I would give it an A-.
Outside of Nashua High School North, community theaters began producing shows. Hammered: a Thor and Loki Story recently premiered at the Janice B. Streeter Theater in Nashua. This show is about the struggles of Thor and Loki's teenage years, and how both brothers must eventually look past their differences to unite. This show pleasantly surprised me. The main actress’ skills were evident through their on-stage chemistry and comedic timing. The show ran very smoothly, and the pacing was great. However, the climax of the show, where Thor and Loki became trapped in a cave, seemed almost comedic in a setting intended to be suspenseful. Overall, I would give this show a B+.
