NASHUA NORTH HIGH SCHOOL HOSTS BOOK SIGNING FOR ENGLISH TEACHER

William Ivers, Nashua North High School teacher will give readings and sign copies of his newly published novel Pierced Girls.

Nashua North High School is excited to celebrate the literary accomplishment of William Ivers, a veteran teacher of the North English Department. Mr. Ivers has published his first novel, Pierced Girls, a moving tale of newly-graduated teen Sheena and her journey to self-actualization.

Sheena wants nothing more than to leave her troubled childhood behind. With no money and nowhere to go after high school, it seems her future will be more of the same, despite her dreams of becoming a music teacher. Desiring connection, Sheena imagines visits from her supposed father, deceased rock star, Joey Ramone. With tragic optimism, Sheena confronts poverty, violence, and the desperate world of drug addicts with the hope that she and her mother can forge a loving relationship and overcome their addictions.

The event is open to the public and will take place, fittingly enough, in the Nashua North Media Center On May 9, 2024, from 6-8 PM. Guests can experience two readings from the author at 6:30 pm and .7:30 pm, and copies of Pierced Girls will be available for sale and signing by the author. Admission is free to all and refreshments will be served.

Pierced Girls is published by Austin Macauley Publishers and is available in bookstores and all major online venues.

Join us in celebrating this truly remarkable event and help encourage the efforts of our children’s teachers who “practice what we preach” in the world beyond the classroom walls.
